The Miss Mamelodi Sundowns pageant began almost five years ago in 2010, and today has become one of the most coveted titles in South Africa.

Birthed from a desire to empower women through a platform usually dominated by men, Miss Mamelodi Sundowns is one of the football clubs CSI initiatives and focuses on empowering women throughout the country.

With the largest prize package in South Africa, the pageant parallels itself in prestige to that of Miss South Africa, with many of our contestants going on to win Miss South Africa and compete in the final. Our current Miss Mamelodi Sundowns 2014, Matlala Mokoko is a former Miss South Africa 2nd Princess.

Unlike any other pageant in the country, Miss Mamelodi Sundowns prides itself in making sure that each province is represented in our national final. We travel to all corners of our country to make sure that even the most hidden beauty is discovered through this dynamic pageant. Heartwarming stories have emerged over the years of young women being able to finish their tertiary eduction with the prize money from this pageant, others have been able to build their parents homes. Every year we hear new success stories about how this pageant changes lives and we are excited about the future of Miss Mamelodi Sundowns in years to come.

Our hearts are for young women in South Africa. Although our roots are in football, we have a passion for uniting and empowering every race, creed and culture in our beautiful land.

Here’s to a bright future of discovering and empowering South Africa’s women.
